Meet Anne Johnson
Anne Johnson has lived in Redwood Falls for almost 25 years. As Executive Director of Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism, Anne’s love of her community and her enthusiastic promotion of it have become one of the things she is known for. A key element of her job is to support the growth of area businesses and the community, a role she takes very seriously. “We have an awesome rural community, wonderful assets and amenities, and most importantly, great people living here. I want this community to continue to thrive for many years in the future, and the way to make that happen is to strategically work together building social capital, invest in our future and our sustainability, and stay positive. At Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism, we are committed to growing the awareness of both the ‘job opportunities’ and ‘quality of life opportunities’ in the Redwood Area.”
Beginning her career life as a 10th grade English teacher, and then a stay-at-home Mom for almost 14 years, Anne has been an active board member and volunteer for many area organizations, committees, foundations, and the local Redwood Area School District. She has also served in other leadership capacities on both a local and state level, including as a member of the Design Committee for the Redwood Falls Family Aquatic Center and as State President of the Minnesota Women of Today. Anne is also a graduate of the Blandin Community Leadership Program.
In her spare time, Anne lives to embarrass, yet lovingly support, her college, high school, and middle school-aged children, loves to listen to audio books (oh, the scandal of a former English teacher who doesn’t read real books anymore!) and enjoys Pinterest waaaaayyyy too much. Celebrating their 25th anniversary this year, she’s still deeply in love with her high school sweetheart, who is annually nominated for Sainthood.
Meet Samantha Loomis
Samantha Loomis, Office Administrator at Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism. Samantha made Redwood Falls her home 10 years ago coming from a small town about 50 minutes west of Redwood Falls called Clara City. Graduating from MACCRAY Samantha furthered her education in Willmar at Ridgewater College; she is also an alumni of Blandin Community Leadership Program.
Samantha volunteers on various committees throughout the area, and is excited to be part of the new initiative, LINC Redwood County. She is very passionate about the Redwood Area Community, and says “It’s so easy to promote all the greatness in Redwood Area when we have so much to offer, and family owned businesses that make you feel like home entering their store. Our local businesses go that extra mile for you, and want you to be satisfied with their product now, and for years to come.” Anne Johnson, Executive Director at Redwood Area Chamber & Tourism and I are really like a dynamic duo that balance each other out. It’s easy to work together because we share the same vision of wanting to embrace our community!
Samantha has an avid sports loving son, Riley, who is a multi-sport athlete. You will find them at the hockey arenas, and football and baseball fields cheering on the Redwood Valley Cardinals, and also enjoy golfing in their spare time at any one of the two golf courses Redwood Area has to offer.
